OverviewSpanish artist Jaume Plensa's unique fountain is a multi-media sculpture that utilizes water, video, and color-changing lighting. Two glass towers, each 50 feet high, stand at either end of a shallow water pool, with water cascading down their sides. Their opposing faces contain large LED video screens, on which play a succession of images of Chicagoans' faces. Krueck & Sexton was the architect and Schuler Shook Chicago was the lighting consultant. Barbizon provided an ETC Emphasis control system that controls the Color Kinetics lights in each 50' tower. The system interacts with the Barco LED video projection and playback system and the Crystal Fountains control systems.
